How To Set Up Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007
- In Outlook, click the Tools menu, then Email Accounts.
- Click "Add", choose POP3 as the account type and click "Next".
- Under "User Information" type your name and new email address.
- Under "Server Information" type "mail." and your domain name for both incoming and outgoing servers. For example, if your new email address ends in @mycompany.com, you would type mail.mycompany.com
- Under "Logon Information", type your new email address under User Name. Type the password you were supplied. Check the "Remember Password" option if you would prefer not to enter your password every time you check your mail.
- Click on the "More Settings..." button
- Click on the Outgoing Server tab and check the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option. Leave "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" checked.
- Click on the Advanced tab. Under "Server Port Numbers", change the Outgoing Server (SMTP) port number from 25 to 12525.
- Also on this tab under "Delivery" we recommend that you check the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" option and set the option to remove mail from server after 14 days.
- Click "OK"
- Click the "Test Account Settings..." button, verify there are no errors, then click "Close".
- Click "Next", then "Finish".
